Default Step-by-step guide to setting up email and sending out campaigns

Seems like a lot of people get confused with the email campaign feature. Besides what is in the user guide, has anyone written a step-by-step guide to:

    - using the Email module
    - using the Campaign module

Another question I have regarding emails is, if I am using a Hotmail or Yahoo account as my primary account and want to use that to email my contacts and leads and use that in my email campaigns, what settings do I need to make to the Email module so that I can use an account like Hotmail instead of using an SMTP account like my company's Exchange server?

    Thanks for any help.

I have been also trying to write up some doucmentation for our internal users before we launch a complete sales & marketing campaign using Sugar. I need to also know how to attach a document to an email template. I will be keeping an eye on this tread to see what documentation is available.

    Hi,
I am also having trouble getting my first email campaign off and running. I had already found the above mentioned guide to setting up an email campaign, which was very helpful.
However, now I'm looking for detailed information about creating a email template to incude our company logo and other images of products etc. within the body of the template.

When you click on the icon to insert/modify images, a box pops up asking for a url for the image. How do I set up a url for the images I want to use in the email?

Can anyone out there help me with this?

    Thanks, Betty

Hi Betty. I am a complete beginner but I managed to set up an email template. Fortunately I had one that I use already on Outlook so I simply copied the html and pasted it into Sugar. The images that you use in the template have to be hosted somewhere, but not in your documents on your own personal computer. I uploaded ours to our server and the url to our images was something like this: http://www.24-7london.co.uk/images/l...eguide-feb.jpg. If the images you wish to use are already on your website, simply right click the image and go to properties and copy the address.
    Good luck!
    Lisa
