Are sub tabs possible in SugarCRM

I'm very new to SugarCRM. A couple of years ago, I was using Access for my client DB. After a database crash, I decided to drop that idea and people on forums were suggesting a PHP/MySQL combination as it is much more stable. So... I went ahead and coded a client database program which is fairly effective. Now, I'm trying to utilize it for marketing and realized that there are a lot of limitations with it and that I will have to code A LOT more to get the functionality I want.

After lots of research, I found SugarCRM and am VERY impressed with it. I'm now running the CE 5.0.0b version (but will update soon).

I'm in the process of setting up my DB and I would like to set it up that the Contacts Module can be broken up into sub-tabs. For example, I want to click on "Contacts" tab at the top and then the contacts module will open up. Then I would like sub tabs: Personal Info, Employment, Dependants, etc.

I would like it that when I click on Personal Info that only the appropriate fields show, and the same for employment and dependents.

I did a search, but I don't know what to search so I'm wondering if someone can please help me with this?

Hi, Jim.

I believe it is possible to do, but certainly it will spend a lot of time, because this implementation affects the themes used by Sugar for rendering the hole page.
Alternatively you can customize the left side menu to add new options.

Okay... I'm willing to change the theme down the road. I'll probably even be be able to code the theme myself later on.

But... How do I design sugar to do this. How do I setup different sub modules, OR do I do each one as its own module and just a link on the left to change to the Employment module, dependents, etc?

I too am looking for this exact feature. I am perfectly willing to modify the themes, but since I am new to Sugar, I have no idea where to start! Ideally I want a menu that on mouse-over shows the modules associated with that main "category".
