Default Sugar 5 Pro and Sugar Portal Users

    Hi,

    I'm new here.

I'm looking at recommending Sugar 5.0 Pro edition, on site, for a client of ours. The product is a very close fit to their requirements.

However, they wish to have 10 active users (who will have full system access, make edits etc), and several hundred "read only" users.

Can anyone advise over the most afordable way to do this? Would SugarPortal be the answer - if so, I can find very little information on it on the web site. Or could I install both the pro edition and the community edition? Or can one create a general "read only" or guest user?

Any help or advice would be great.

    Nick

Pro and CE cannot coexist in one instance - so that is not an option.

Why do users have unique usernames? So that we can assign data to them specifically, and so that we can tell who entered new data or took certain actions.

Seems like you may not need any of those things for your read-only users? If so - maybe they all share one unique login for read-only users? I have not myself seen any limitation on how many people can be logged in at the same time as the same user.
