Question Sugar as an Actual Customer COllaborator

Hi there, I have always loved the open source Sugar CRM application however one thing has ALWAYS stumped me. The most important element in CRM for me is the very element that enables my business to most effectively collaborate with our customers. In other words, I am still looking for the area by which I can invite my customers to a web address, url, domain link where by they can collaborate with us on their project.

The "Portal" link located on the main navigation has always stumped me as well. Reason being is because I have always felt that this link whould be a direct link to an actual portal that is the actual meeting grounds between my team and my customers team. This "portal" link appears to still be nothing more than an area for us to internally list our favorites. Its a link compilation of what ever links I wish to place in there, it isnt a portal. Unless you wish to call it a "Personal Links Portal"?

By now I am very hopeful and actually confident that someone has created either a plugin or perhaps it exists within the update to 451 but I know that the actual "Portal" for collaboration between my team and the customers team exists. Can someone please point us in the right direction to get this element into our system and working?

Lastly, my emphasis on this subject is so strong that I would seriously consider changing that main nav link of "Portal" from what its current functions are to what the real need is here; Customer Relationship Management.

Thanks again for a pretty good product,

    Hi Scott,

The thing with Portals is, it just hasn't been a priority for Sugar yet. Currently, time is spent on other features, like the Calendar module.

Also, you must understand that Sugar is open source, and so it's 100% customizable to everything you want it to be. You should look into hiring a experienced Sugar developer to build this Portal for you.
