    Default Sugar Campaigns

Let's imagine a scenario where say, loan agents (for mortgages) are using Sugar. They are not working as a team like
a typical sales team would, but let us assume that a 100 or so loan agents are on the same install of Sugar.

How would campaigns work in this scenario? The reason I ask is because when setting up the "Manage Inboxes" part in the admin section, it asks for a From Name and Address. The From Email is what is used to send out the campaign if I am not mistaken. If so, how can multiple loan agents use the campaign feature if the emails from loan agent A and B both get sent out using the same email address?

Ideally, they want to be able to send out their own email campaigns to their own target lists and not have to worry about sharing the email address, inbox, etc.

Is this just not possible using Sugar? Am I missing something? I can't believe that Sugar would think that ALL campaigns are ALWAYS sent out from a COMMON marketing team.

Please shed some light on this for me.

Why not just use seperate campaign codes?

    Hi there,

You absolutely can designate whatever mailbox you'd like, and it doesn't have to be the same one for every campaign. We do this all the time in Sugar; using our one (and only) instance of Sugar, we send out marketing messages, the SugarBUZZ newsletter, the Sugar University newsletter, and the SugarForge developer newsletter, all of which are different campaigns from different "From" addresses. You can designate which email to use by going to the Email Marketing section and setting the "Use mailbox" field to the mailbox you want to use. You'll need to make sure the mailbox is set up to handle bounce emails, otherwise your bounce email count won't be correct.

For more tips on setting up campaigns, you can check out the podcast we published last week called "Campagin Tips", located either on iTunes (search for "SugarCRM") or also on this page.

How do you manual flag/mark targets in a campaign when it is a non-email related campaign e.g. a postal mail campaign.

If we get phone calls I want to be able to mark the target for that campaign as a lead and track it that way. If we get a response either negative or positive I want to mark the target as such and credit a given campaign.

    Does this make sense?

Perhaps, but it seems amazingly clunky.

I have an assistant who has a list of targets that are being rejected. In this world it appears you have to convert the targets to leads, associate them with a single campaign and then mark them as dead somehow.

Too many steps and too inefficient.

What I want is with in the campaign view select 1 or more targets and mark them as dead or convert into leads or dnr.

    Am I missing something?

In addition ... didn't mention this. If you manual coinvert and associate the target (now lead, dead or otherwise) with the campaign, if you do any View Status these entries are not part of the statistics!

Again has anyone been able to use sugar crm successfully to track letter campaigns (or even non-email campaigns).

    cheers

I am convienced now that non-email campaigns are completely broken in 4.5.1g (at least)

None of the statisticas are associated with the campagin making it useless. There is no way to manually mark a target as bad and have it appear in the stats, conversions are not tracked, etc. etc.

This is a showstopper for us.

Has anyone else seen these problems?
