Non techie here.
I have the latest Sugar installed in Amzon ec2 cloud in what I am told is a 'basic small' config.
I can only 'mass' delete 300 records before screen goes blank -then I have to refresh and select another groups and delete 300 records etc etc.
My work requires loading working then deleting loads (10-20-30k) records so this is clearly unworkable.
My Sugar provider says the only way out is to spend $ with him to develop a custom 'thing' allowing me to delete accounts/contacts/call en mass.
His mail txt goes:
Regarding the Mass Delete problem, we have already maximized the memory tuning ie the Max number of records you can delete through Sugar is 300 based on the Amazon Web Service plan you are on. To increase the memory usage, you would need to move to the next tier range for Amazon Web Services which constitutes to around 4 times the pricing ( from the current $0.095 per hour to $0.38 per hour). The other option is to look at a 1 manday customization which we would build in a special admin feature that would override the current checking done by Sugar during deletion. This feature would allow you to clean up your entire database ( Accounts, Contacts, Calls ) with a single button and would take much faster to complete.
Question:
Is this really so?
Would it be true on a locally hosted server in my office - would it need to be an exotic server?
Thanks in advance. I am really disappointed with this product.
