I'm looking for a way for customer to send messages thru web form and get added to SugarCRM. Will 4.5 do this? I know there is Mambo plugin for older version but it is out of date.

In the upcoming 4.5 release (due out in a few days), we are introducing Sugar Portal which is available with the Sugar Professional and Sugar Enterprise editions. In this initial release, Sugar Portal is focused solely on providing a Case Portal for your customers to submit customer support cases via your website.Originally Posted by goober
Moving forward, we will extend the functionality to include the ability for customers to manage their own contact info,
submit bug reports and view project information. We will also include in future releases the ability for your partners to manage leads and opportunities through the Sugar Portal.

Clint

Partners managing leads and opps would be AWSOME!!!
sounds interesting
So, no options for Open Source users to utilize Sugar Portal with 4.5?
That is correct. There is a SugarForge project to update the old Mambo work - but it does not seem to be going too fast.

I really need this as well.

That's nice, but I'm really surprised that SugarCRM hasn't implemented the really simple stuff that every business needs, like a contact form. The support features in SugarCRM are too simple for us to use, and so we're sticking with our existing support system, but the sales and marketing side of the company are trying to use SugarCRM, and there doesn't seem to be support for even simple web-based interactions with leads without writing custom PHP and SQL pages.
The system has had a standard lead capture capability for a long time. If that's all you want - it is there.
I am using the OS version. I am using the soaptestportal.php in the example folder which is not working at all. Is that means the support of OS is laid to rest?
Not at all. What exactly isn't working?Originally Posted by sugarcare
