Sugar CRM API - Actions

Hi all,

I'm just getting up to speed on Sugar for my company and I have a question about the API. I see that the API can be used to retrieve and persist data, but I am wondering if it is possible to cause Sugar to execute emails, etc by using the API.

Specifically, we'd like to have a web form on our site that generates a certain type of lead and submit the information gather to our Sugar instance and have any emails that would be generally sent using the standard UI, to do the same for API related inserts.

If you change objects in Sugar with th API it's the same as with internal work. The logic hooks (in this case e.g. after_save) and workflow rules (in PRO edition) could send emails if needed.
