Default Sugar CRM for a Services based businesses

    Hi,

We are a serivces based business looking at CRM options. We are selling development / integration projects, consultants and resources to our clients. Our projects are long and revenue is spread over a period of time - 3 months / 12 months and also financial years.

One aspect of CRM 's generally that seems to be missing is the ability for the sales team to forecast a service based opportunity and split revenue across multple months eg $1m with a rev stream of $100K per month over 10 months.

Were not looking for project accounting, but simply the ability to report on forecasted sales showing the total rev and the projected revenue per month.

Currently doing this in Excell, but wondering if :-

1/ This is functionality supported in SugarCRM today ?
2/ Someone is working on project to add this functionality ?

    Thanks in advance,

    Simon

You might want to have a look at Info At Hand - we have charts that show total project income by month, and our Projects module tracks expected and actual income and costs each month for each project. Timesheets accrue costs to the project, once they are approved.

    Hi

    Thanks for the mail.

    Will take a further look...

Ideally its when the reps are forecasting the opportunities, they can specific a total rev amount, the starting month, project duration and then based on the previous inputs the forecast allows for the total rev amount to be divied across those months. Nothing too complex.

    Thanks,

    Simon

    Hi,

Although Longreach has added this functionality as an add-on, I think SugarCRM should address this issue in the core module. We have a number of clients that have a simialr situation to you,

Sorry - the solution is embodied in many modules - projects for showing the costs across the months, and assigning multiple resources to each project task, timesheets to book time to tasks, HR to set standard costs per hour for each resource, and so on. We have not built Info At Hand as an add-on to SugarCRM, but as a new commercial superset of SugarCRM OS - just as Sugar Pro is. And just as there is no 'Sugar Pro add-on module', the same is true for Info At Hand.
