    Default Which Sugar CRM Version?

I have been reading a lot that in version 5.0 the email functionality is not very stable and has a lot of problems. Since my business is %90 based online I would like to know if there is a Sugar CRM that everyone would recommend that has the email function stable. I really like sugar but I need to integrate something stable.

You're right, I don't believe the 5.0 email is stable. But, the 4.5.1. Email isn't very beautiful either. That one really cannot work with a lot of email. All email and attachments are saved in ./cache, even IMAP mail.

    I would suggest you use:
-Outlook with the SugarCRM plugin (119/year)
    -Thunderbird with SugarCRM plugin (free)
    Developers go here
    Businesses go there (Dutch)

    Modules:
SugarDev.net Developer Tools | Config | Dutch Language Pack

Is your suggestion for the outlook plug ins to use any of the sugar versions? or are there any other combos of sugar version and plug in that works the best.

    Hi Decaldreams,

One option is to use Thunderbird, with the Asertiva Thunderbird Extension for SugarCRM, and version 5.0. Despite the bugs you have encountered, there are significant advantages to starting with 5.0, especially if you plan to customize and extend the system with new modules.

We use the above solution internally and have found it to be very practical.

We have version 4.5.1i installed at the moment and do NOT use Email in Sugar itself.
One of our users has a Outlook Client installed, which has some problems of visibility.
From time to time he can see records which he doesnt own in outlook!

In our system test environment for Sugar 5.0.0c the Email module of Sugar works (with some patches for german exchange), but I'll wait for the magic e-release as I did alread for 4.5.1e.
From the fixed bug list I would say that 5.0.0e is the first reasonable production version of the 5 series.

Hello Samir, thanks for your request.
Pleaase look to my post http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showp...51&postcount=3 to find a solution for international coding problems between sugar and ms exchange using imap.
This issue makes Sugar nearly unuseable for customers with imap and localized directory names.

Ok so I might give it shot for now in using the sugar 5.0 email module. I had set up an imap email account and it downloads the messages just fine, but one thing that I had noticed is that if I were to compose a message, it shows up in the my sent folder. How do I configure suger to have sent emails show up into my imap sent folder? The goal would be that even if I send out an email message through sugar to have it in the imap sent folder so that when I open up my outlook, it will be in the same imap account? if I did not explain that very well let me know I will try to explain it better.

-dtokeefe- I sent you a pm, I am having trouble installing the plug in to thunderbird.

Default Same IMAP Isuse Re: Which Sugar CRM Version?

IMAP mailbaoxes are not staying in sync? Why?

Please see my operating system and version in my signature.

I am have the same problems as 'decaldreams' ... I successfully set up 3 IMAP accounts ... at the completion of the set up the email client imported all the accounts properly including the 'Sent Mail' and 'Trash' IMAP subfolders.

The problems that I am encountering are as follows:

    1) Sending email from the Sugar email client will NOT place a sent copy of the email in the sent subfolder nor place it in the IMAP server. But when I send an email from my Apple mail client and then do a 'Check Email' in Sugar the copy will be there. The SMTP setting are the same for both clients.

    2) When I delete trash emails from me Apple mail client they will delete just fine ... but after I do a 'Check Email' the copies of the email deleted on the server are still there when I check the Sugar email.

    3) Here is the weird part ... when I delete mail from the trash subfolder in Sugar it will delete the mail from the server and not have it found in Apple Mail ... sometimes ... I know sometimes is weird but I am not able to reproduce the exact steps to to figure out how it is done.

Are these known bugs? Is there a fix?

    Hi decaldreams/secant
The issues of copying a send mail to the sent mail of IMAP folder is a feature missing. I am working on that.

    For secant,
    2) I don't know what apple mail is doing but looks like when using apple client, you delete a message, it may not be deleted from server and thats why sugar cleint is able to retrieve the message. Check the apple mail client settings tomake sure that delete process immediately deletes a message from server.
    3) wheneever you delete a message from sugar client, we will try to move the message to INBOX.Trash. SO if you have a trash folder under INBOX then it will work fine. I already have a bug for that so what I am about to do is provide a facility to choose a Trash folder on UI so that if you delete a message it will move that message to the chosen trash folder.

    For Kuske,
In the forum link there are two issues.
    1) Its related to imap_utf7_decode. I am working on that right now.
    2) Folder subscription issue where you want to see only the chosen folders and not all folders on the sugar client. This feature is already implemented in 5.1. So whenever you create an Inbound Account, you will have the facility to chose multiple folder you would like to see using sugar client. Then check mail process will only go through those folders to get new email.

    Thanks
    -Samir Gandhi
