Default Sugar and a Mac in a start-up?

Okay, i've looked around the forums, done a search and cannot find these answers. Any help that the community can provide is very much appreciated!

    1. Do you need a server to run the basic version of Sugar? How can a single version of Sugar be installed on a laptop and demo'ed (or run)?

    2. Can you run Sugar on a Mac? Specifically, iBook G4 running ...... I saw that there is no import into iCal available yet but am i able to run the CRM on this OS?

    Thanks again for the help!

My company is all mac... macs are fine. Use firefox as your browser, not Safari. You do need a "server," but maybe not in the sense that you are thinking. Every version of OS X comes pre-installed w/ Apache. If you install MySQL and PHP onto your computer (laptop or whatever), you can run a local installation of Sugar on that machine.

I've started a thread here to document my efforts at making it easier to install SugarOS on a Macintosh...

Short answer, though, it's not too hard to run SugarOS on a Mac. I'm doing it right now! The only additional piece of software that needs to be installed is mysql, if I remember correctly. The rest is there or is there but lingering un-enabled (in php's case...)

    Hope this helps!
