Sugar Server Specs and Performance

I am on a mission to build THE fastest Sugar installation possible and by that I mean reducing the server response time
to the lowest possible rate and keeping it there. Here is my current test system both hardware and software setups with their associated server times and records in the database. I'd love to see what suggestions the community has as well as other
configurations and times.

Processor: 1 P4 3.2GHZ
Memory: 2GB DDR
HDD TYPE: SATA
HDD SIZE: 1x300GB
HD CONFIG: Standard (as opposed to RAID 5 etc..)

Contact Records: 5997
Users: 5
Avg Response Times: .10 to .16

SOFTWARE:
OS: CentOS 4.2
PHP: 4.3.9
MYSQL: 4.1.12

What could be improved on this server? What will and won't make a difference in performance as the db and user nubmers increase? What configs have you found success with?

Here's an update, I build the new machine it is as follows and is screaming fast.

Processor: 1 P4 3.6 HT 2MB Cache
Memory: 4GB 667MHZ DDR RAM
HDD TYPE: SCSI 320
HDD SIZE: 4x34GB Configured as RAID 10

Avg Response Times: .05 to .08

SOFTWARE:
OS: CentOS 4.2
PHP: 4.3.9
MYSQL: 4.1.12
