Default SugarCRM 5.5.0 Community Campaign Embedded Image

    Hi,

I'm trying to create an email campaign using the Campaign Wizard. At email creation time, I'm trying to embed an image using the paper clip icon, but nothing happens. I'm trying this with SugarCRM 5.5.0 build 6653 Community.

I'm able to make it work by creating an email template at first (there, the paper clip does its work, and I can visually see that the image has been embedded), and calling that email template in the Campaign Wizard for editing. There, I can add a Tracker name. But even there, there's a small bug. I can see that there's a image attached, and I can see in the HTML view where the image is located, even if I can't see it in the wysiwyg editor).

I confirm that the emails sent by the campaign that way really are emails with embedded images. But this is quite difficule to operate.

How can this be fixed so image embedding works correctly within the Campaign Wizard?

    Thanks,

    Christian...

There have been so many threads about embedding images in Campaign templates over the years that if you have found a repeatable and robust method then smile ... it's more than many of your predecessors have.

This is ridiculous. Sugar is on 5.50 (soon to be 6), people have been complaining since 4.5.1 and it still doesn't work? Doesn't it make sense to either fix it, or change the documentation so people will know it doesn't work? The document is almost flippant when it makes it sound so easy: "upload the image; click on the paperclip. Voila!" This is frustrating to say the least.

Agreed ... however, although there are niggles in many corners of sugar, it's still an excellent platform

I created my Email outside of sugar. I created a HTML page with images etc. Then copied the code into the HTML updater in Sugar. Worked with no issues.

It might also be worth looking at the tinyMCE image upload plugin ... this enables you to directly upload the image to the server and access through a point and click GUI rather than trying to assemble the relative/absolute file reference
