Exclamation SugarCRM 5.5.1 RC2 login problem - Update

    Hi,

I reinstalled SugarCRM from scratch to 5.5.1-RC2 (remember, I wasn't able to login after installation or upgrade). Now, I've found my way to success. The problem: the browser !!!!

If I'm using Explorer to login, it's OK (relatively slow, but I don't know if that would've been the case with Explorer against SugarCRM 5.5.0). If I try to login with Firefox (3.6, on Linux and Windows), I just can't login, without the notice "You must specify a valid username and password."

If this helps. It is useless to say that SugarCRM MUST be useable with Firefox...

Any javascript errors in IE or Firefox? Sounds like there must be.

No, not any error. Oh! I wouldn't say that the code isn't without some problems (the login page, for one, does not validate through W3C (http://validator.w3.org/)) but this shouldn't interfere with normal operations. But, as long as Javascript is involved, not any errors.

One strange thing I just noticed. Could it be a longstanding bug? For example, I haven't been able to submit a bug report with Firefox (You must specify a valid bug.). With Explorer, though, I've been able to submit my bug report with the exact same information as with the failed trial with Firefox.

Very odd then. I've been using 5.5.1 RC2 here on Firefox and haven't had any issues at all. Haven't had any issues with Firefox ever, even from 3.5.1. Do you have any plugins installed that maybe could be the culprit?

I just tried out with Firefox in safe mode (that is, without any extension). Keeps me out of SugarCRM.

What's strange is that it works perfectly well in 5.5.0. The problem appeared with 5.5.1-rc2. Do not know it this was the case with 5.5.1-rc1

I did flush completely my firefox profile on both machines that were refusing to connect with Firefox (I had the wonderful idea of testing it on my... test machine, which was allowing to login with Firefox ). After reinstalling EXACTLY the same addons I had before (comfirmed with a screenshot), I can login again with Firefox on my 5.5.1-RC2 installation, on both machines.

So there was apparently something hidden on Firefox profiles on BOTH machines. Nothing to do with the cache, since I deleted it manually to make sure it WAS deleted.....

So to make a long story short, everything (regarding login, at least) works correctly again with Firefox.
