Hi All,
I'll share a bit of my background with Sugar firs. I have been supporting a SugarCRM install for a client of mine since 2009 on a 40 seat license. The company is medium sized, about 140+ employees and 12 offices nation wide. We started off on earlier Sugar 5 releases and moved slowly through each release since.
SugarCRM
I am a developer and business owner myself, with more of my time now spent overseeing development of multiple projects as of late, so I write this not only from a User's point of view but a developers as well. SugarCRM isn't perfect, no piece of software out there is, that's a given and something I experienced when we updated one of the servers to a newer version of php upon which Sugar broke, which sent me off the deep end via email to Sugar's developers. There are some quirks, there are some annoyances, but every piece of software has these, it's just how many of these you need to really deal with on a daily basis that makes certain pieces of software greater than others. If you want something 100% hassle free, then you need to build your own internal CRM ground up, simple. Sugar, for the rest of us without unlimited pockets is an amazing piece of software. Over the past two years working with it I have grown to appreciate its power more and more, and watching people work with it they too have found it increasingly useful.
Once you spend more time with Sugar, and in particular Sugar Studio as well you start to really appreciate how customisable this piece of software is. I have played with other alternatives, and nothing seems to offer that out of the box flexibility that Sugar offers. Whilst a lot of CRM's are pre-defined, especially in workflow, Sugar gives you an amazing scope to customise it to how you want and not be truncated to a foreign workflow.
Those behind Sugar are doing a great job with the software, and the support network around the Sugar product such as the documentation, seminars, workshops etc all just adds to that overall positive experience. Hats off to those who both develop the product, and create the ever growing accessible resources around Sugar.
Acts93 Inc
After having supported this Sugar install for my client, I decided with a new startup being setup I would like to try Sugar in a small business environment from the start. My first point of call was to get a single Sugar license, so I hit up Google and also searched this forum finding a post from Angel. I also called Sugar and they suggested a couple of their partners. Seeing as Angel seemed very active here, I followed through with my fist find and he hand-balled me over to Linda Anderson from Acts93 where Angel works. Linda was nothing short of a superstar in attaining me a single license for Sugar On-Site. Her answers were incredibly fast, emails responses clear, and on the phone extremely friendly to a customer who was buying only a single license. Suffice to say that I am impressed enough that further licenses will go through her as we add more seats to our install. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to URL drop in here, however considering we spend more than 14K per year on Sugar i'll blackmail you Moderators a bit and ask you let me plug Linda's websitehttp://www.actsautomation.com
Overall I am incredibly happy with SugarCRM, and totally surprised by the amazing support given by Acts93 Inc.
