Question SugarCRM content and php link map....

    Hello,

Does anyone know if there is access to a development map, detailing which files are linked to which other files? We have a PHP programmer, and have him build dashlets, etc. would be much easier and faster if he knew all the 'inter-linking' within Sugar - without having to go through each php page and figure it out...

    Please advise..

    Thanks again!

First and Foremost Checkout the Developer Wiki There is a good section on Dashlets. The developer Wiki is packed with more developer information on SugarCRM. http://www.sugarcrm.com/wiki/index.p...Developer_Wiki

Secondly, Check out the Sugar Developer/User Groups in the SugarForge Community section. There are several developer webinars for developing in SugarCRM. The event held today was covering Dashlet development. http://www.sugarforge.org/content/co...y/user-groups/

    Hello Max,

Thank you for the reply.. I was looking for a 'map' of interconnectivity between the php and scripts within SugarCRM,.. the dashlets was just an example.. We will be having him build an extensive work flow tracker for our team... any info on this subject?

Hi HomeTeam, workflow is predicated on events, and logic hooks allow you to act on certain events within Sugar.

Check out the "Mystical Sugar Bean (Redux)" topic in the Wiki. There you'll find a pointer to a sample hook. Also, the "How to Build Sugar Forums" serves as a useful example describing the files that make up a module. The combination should be a good start.

While we currently don't have a full map of the files in the system, this Wiki section describes the files used throughout the system.

Finally, Sugar Professional and Enterprise editions intrinsicly provide a Workflow capability that may suffice for your needs.

Hi HomeTeam, the Sugar Professional and Enterprise editions are commercial editions, available for a fee, and described here. Both editions contain the Workflow capability which is considered a Customization capability.

The source code is, of course, available when either edition is purchased.
