Default SugarCRM disabling users while keeping them "active"

Well awhile ago when employees left I would disable their accounts, this would make them impossible to search for though in the database, so their leads needed to be transfered out first... we couldn't wait a few days...

After that I just started changing passwords, but this sucks too, why? Because I say so (ok I just don't like this method).

3rd idea, and the one I have a question about, why not create a user role that is denied to everything... would this cause any security issues?

Why not create a role that doesn't allow a user access to anything and then simply add the user to that role?

Yeah that was the 3rd idea, I just wanted to make sure you couldn't access anything and there were no loopholes or issues with that idea.
