SugarCRM as e-business website backend

Hello,
I am currently using SugarCRM to follow my leads, contacts & co. I am about to start the build of an e-business website and I was wondering if SugarCRM could avoid me to use a CMS and that every backend aspects would be managed by it ? The website would permit to download different documents (PDF, DOC, ...) which will be categorized and secured (how does SugarCRM managed the documents ? is it possible to keep for example a snapshot attached to a document ?)

Do you have any experience of this kind of project realized with SugarCRM ?

I think using SugarCRM to manage the backend of a document store should work out well. I'm not as sure if you would want it to manage every aspect of the site like a CMS would, but this aspect would workout well.
