    Default SugarCRM On-line Users Group

OK, Here it is. The official SugarCRM On-Line Users Group. Plans are in the works to make this happen and we are trying to gauge just how much interest there is.

Answering this poll does not obligate you to anything, your answer is anonymous. We are just trying to get a rough number.

Before I vote on something I don't know anything about, what exactly is being proposed here? Don't mean to sound rude, just trying to figure out what an online developers group is and how it differs from the forums / wiki?

This isn't a vote, it's a poll. We are looking to set up a group of people who meet on-line once a month to discuss ...... things. Just like a local users group but on-line. We havent planned out what software we want to use or an agenda or anything. This is just a head count of who might be interested.

Not sure if it would be helpful, but I could set up an IRC room if needed.

I'm sure there are other methods or alternatives but I thought I would throw that into the mix.

Right now we are in the discovery phase of the Users/Developers group. Ken and I have been in discussion with SugarCRM. This pole is mostly to get a an Idea of what the interest in the group would be on a grand scale as this will provide online webinars, modarated live chat sessions for specific topics with viewable archives. Any Ideas are welcome. IRC is one possability but we will look at all options and we would love some suggestions from others out there.
    Cheers,

What !! The button in your 'poll' says 'Vote'
What is your difference between a poll and a vote?

Have users/public brought this up, or are you short of things to keep you busy? There seems to be a shortage of people to attack the problem of bugs and lack of functionality in the email part of the system. Maybe you could spend some time over there?

    David,

Obviously you have problems responding in a nice manner on a public forum to people that are actually trying their best to improve the (free) software you are using. This is the second arrogant posting I´ve seen from you, which really is two too many.

Why are you patronizing other people´s efforts?

If you have anything constructive to share, please do. Otherwise, keep your trap shut.

We're not voting to do something, we are simply looking for a head count of who is interested. We are not to the point of defining what it is yet other than "an On-line User Group". Pretty self explanatory I think.

I'm a private party who doesn't work for SugarCRM in any way. I just moderate the forum. I have all the time in the world and decide what to keep busy with on my own.

Maybe you can expand on why you feel that an online user group would be beneficial and why Sugar should not be providing the resources you mention.

At the moment we have the sugar forums where we know Sugar monitor them (Hi Clint ), SugarForge for development, and they're reasonably easy to find for pretty much any user, and they're reasonably open (except if you mention "he who must not be named" - Volde-T-I-G-E-r).

I'd prefer things to be an evolution of whats available on the Sugar site rather than a the revolution of a seperate user group, unless you can tell me something which can only be achieved as a separate group

Mainly it would be beneficial as in most cities there just isn't any possibility of a normal users group yet. The forums are great but nothing is better than a live demonstration. AFAIK SuagrCRM will be very involved in both traditional Users Groups (where they can be formed) and this venture.
