    Default SugarCRM Pre-Install Issues

I am trying to assess SugarCRM for our organization and have some questions:

    1. We have an existing website and domain with existing email addresses for that domain. If we want to use SugarCRM, does it make sense to install the program on our existing web server and use the same domain? Or does it matter? Can it be used just as easily using a different domain? We definitely want our email addresses to interface properly.

    2. We currently have 5 users (sales and management) and plan to increase to 10 over the next two years. How much disk space is typically required for this? What would be a safe size? Currently our web host package has 1 GB but me thinks this is way too little. Any rule of thumbs that might apply?

    thanks!

The domain name doesn't have any bearing on functionality (e-mail or otherwise). It is more a matter of preference, especially if you are considering exposing your CRM system to users outside your organization.

Well, as you've indicated, 1 GB is far too little. It is hard to say how much would be a better amount without knowing what your usage plans are, but you might want to look at least 15 GB as a starting point. Assuming you are only entering data, that should hold you for a while. The moment you start adding files/documents into the mix, then you'll need to revisit the disk space situation. Also, I am assuming you wouldn't be entering 1000 records into the database on a daily basis.
