I am working on the layout editor for SugarPrint (the replacement for the Print option in SugarCRM) and I am pretty far along but before I lock in functionality I thought I would get some comments on the interface so I can fix problems now when it's easier.

Attached is a movie that has no audio, but it show each section of the unfinished layout editor. With it you can change the column label, it's width, it's background color, it's alignment and it's sort order.

Watch this movie and tell me what you think, does it make sense? are there options missing? whatever...

Just a note, I had to right click and "Save Target As" that movie link. It is an 11.2 MB AVI file.

It looks really awesome though, very nice little print layout view. How do you filter the results it shows? I can see how to order them, but filter?

Right now it takes the filter from the listview that you clicked 'Print' from. Like if you were on the Contacts ListView and you did a search for contacts with a first name of 'Bob' then that filter would survive to the printout.

I think the Pro version of SugarPrint will have a complete "report writer" maybe. Something that lets you set the filters, breaks, subtotals and footers. If I had something like that (and it worked well) would anyone pay for it?
