How are everyones upgrades to 4.0 going?
Planning to do ours next week, wondered if there were any common problems/snags to look out for?

fresh install works fine, I tried the upgrade 4 times with no success on a complelely fresh install of 3.5.1d with no mods.
I upgraded through the Upgrade Wizard without a hitch. But then again, I´m on Enterprise...![]()

So far so good! Everyone has been reporting painless procedures, but it is ALWAYS SMART to back up and also set up a test enviroment identical to your production enviroment. There are a billion and one enviroments out there, so let us know how your upgrade goes!
Ours went smooth! I did forget to backupour custom designed screens though - so I had to redo the layouts to put our custom defined fields back in. But it was only about 10 field in 2 screens, so it wasnt a big issue, and I was too lazy to go back to the backups to restore them...An extra 15 minutes on a really smooth 5 minute upgrade from 3.5.1 to 4.0
Havent had the chance to play with the new functionality as yet...
Cheers,
Devan
Hi I was wondering if you had to backup and reinstall the data base when you did a fresh install of Sugar 4.0? Or if you can just install over the previous version. I updated to 3.5.1e just fine with the patch but mine will not take the 4 patch. It gives me a message to select a file and retry.Originally Posted by y2chuck

I jumped the gun here though I had increased the file limit to 8Mb but i figured I'd try 10. 12Mb finally got it for me. Thanks for the quick help though. I have no experience with php Apache or MYSQL but It has been pretty easy going. Excellent product here!Originally Posted by Oracledarren

I'm struggling with the upgrade here.
I've previously added a few patches and a few modules and all has worked fine. However when I try to install the latest upgrade to version 4, I cant get past the upload page. I just get a page not found error in both IE and FF. PHP is set to allow 20MB uploads so I'm really not sure what to do.
Is there a way I can upload the file via ftp and then run the install wizard?
Any other suggestions very welcome
thanks for the replys everyone, I think i will setup a test system with a copy of the data, give it a quick try, and i'll let you know what happens tomorrow!
