    Arrow Suggestion for Forums: Tutorials Section

    I have a suggestion for a section of the Forums. Why don't we create a new "Tutorials" category in the Forums? In this section, we would have How To's, Open Source Documentation, Tutorials and Examples. This way, new users coming here would have a "one stop shop" to start learning about SugarCRM. This would of course be geared towards the development of SugarCRM, not necessarily just copying what is already in the Open Source Manual.

    I think this would be a great resource for new users and even some of us experienced users also. We could start off by populating it with KBrill's documentation from SugarCubed. There are also quite a few good tutorials in the forums now but they are kind of scattered around. We need one central place for this.

    Just a thought!

    Hi swhitlow, this is a good idea. We'll take it under advisement as we work to better categorize the Forum and provide a Wiki as well.

    Thanks for the input,

    I am using the forum for over 3 months and I'm tracking a growing number of threads and topics. Today I've decided to create a MindMap (see attached print screen) in an attempt to better organize and find the information.

    Just another thought

    Those are very good ideas. The tutorial section for Sugar CRM is poor. I understand that it is in development, but, for now, it is very short in features. I am holding a professional license for Sugar CRM and frankly I am not pleased with this. This said, SugarCRM is easy to set up.

    Short of combing the forums and create a mapmind of the points of interest, I think that setting up a dedicated section within the forum is a good idea.

    It is clear that SugarCRM must pay closer attention to developing a more comprehensive set of tutorials.

    Tutorial would have saved me much time. And if we start to prioritise the tutorials, I vote top priority for inbound email without hesitation. This is the most difficult module for me, the other modules seemed "quite intuitive". But it took me a long while before I understood:
    - that all "monitored inbound mails" are actually shared among all users;
    - this regardless whether "personal" or "group" inbox, its just a matter of "workflow", who "usually" gets to see the mail first.

    If I understand the "design philosophy" behind sugar, I can create 2 "group users" (eg. sales@ and support@), but everybody still sees every mail ? (Open source version)

    ... I haven't figured out the relation between the "scheduler module" and the "scheduled task", the intervals... (I'm on WinXP till production) it was working fine but over the weekend, I received no more mails in sugar... I didn't know where to start troubleshooting... I reinstalled sugar from scratch ... still wondering if I missed something regarding "inbound mail".

    In any case, I will have a hard time explaining to my team when I go production, short of setting up test accounts and test emails to confirm various scenarios to demo to the team... if I succeed in writing something meaningful, I don't mind to "contribute to the community"
