I"m helping a small design company automate their client reporting system (currently on paper) and am thinking perhaps Sugar CRM could help.
They sell design work, which usually takes the form of time (pushing pixels) and expenses (for mockups, couriers, etc).
They need to create entries for these 'jobs' on a system, I guess as 'quotes' & 'Orders' for 'Products' as they need to have costs attached to them.
Each job needs a start date, end date, internal PO number, client PO number (which I'm guessing will be custom fields) and also basic contact info.
The way I see it - Opportunities could handle the entire sale, but there is no way to split out work and expenses.
The projects module has start / end, but has no way to attach 'values' (costs) to it.
I have seen a few Product modules over on SugarForge, however, I'm not sure if these will give me the sort of functionality I am after.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
