Task Management Suggestion – Critical for software project managers - general also

Suggestions: I would love to hear what you think and if this can be done? I've used proprietary system for task management and it’s been very helpful.

1) Ability to add cc users to a task. (Some time this is critical to have others view task as well).

2) Ability to forward a task to other users. Sometimes tasks require 2-3 people to complete so ability to forward tasks and logging that the task has been forwarded is important.

3) Ability to View Tasks as 4 options in activities section or where ever.
a. ‘My Created Tasks’ (tasks I’ve created for my self or I’ve created for others)

b. Task Received (Either if some one created a task for me or if a task was forwarded to me and is under my name now)

c. Task CC (Displays all the tasks that I’ve been cc on).

d. Ability to create tasks folder and store tasks in a separate category, for example “important’ folder. So that way if I have many tasks open I see easily my important ones always.

e. Ability to see tasks open in one color, task past due in another color, tasks closed in another color.

Excuse me if I’ve suggested a feature already available. I just didn’t notice it. Excellent progress and work for 4.0, I’m excited to see it live and would be even more excited if the task management section would be improved. This would really allow software project mangers to use this software even more so. Great work Sugar Team!!!!

I second this. It's critical not only for software development but for others.

I love other features you suggested if they are available in the future.

Can someone development give an idea of what is in store for teh Project/task modelue of SugarCRM. I know many companies that are evaluating the software how ever are holding back from switching just due to the task management section of the CRM. I'll be glad to provide ideas etc if I have a better idea if this will be a focus or not. Thanks. Otherwise great work guys.

2) Every change should be documented/commented once a task is created. For example if task owner updates/edit the tasks, the task should have a comment stating the task has been edited.

3) When adding a comment to task, include add and notify all, add and notify (no cc) and just add new (doesn't email anyone). This also applies to when adding a file to the task where we have.

You can enable auditinig on a project task and see its change log anytime you want. Isn't it enough?

This can be somewhat achieved if you use the upcoming Sugar Enterprise/Professional 4.0 by setting a workflow trigger on a project task record. But a way to specify a recipient will be limited.
