Default Is there any reporting on Sugar Open source??

HI I think I picked up a thread that said you could not get any reports unless you purchased SugarCRM, is that correct.

I'm basically looking to pull off reports to analyse how many activities made each month, how many that have a call due in say Dec06 (or custom field) along with reporting on which companies are prospects etc

Please advise as I'm about to invest more time in this this week and I want to make sure I get it right.

    Thanks in advance

Open Source SugarCRM reporting is available for FREE at http://www.sugarforge.org/projects/zuckerreports/. Paid versions are also available with developers.

The only hitch here is the Java support it requires with PHP MySQL. I have not been able to find a good hosting provider that provides Java + PHP + MySQL.

    Any suggestion from any member??

Thanks, for the link - is this easy to insatll, I've taken a look at the install notes, and in the process (I think) of downloading J2SE development kit, open office

I've added the calendar reports x2 (are these the only reports??) to the install routine, but not yet installed

After this is there any code needed as that will completely go over my head..

Is there anything else needed? the manual seems alittle technical for me, I can grasp most things but ummm sometimes alittle of my head

Now getting a Error message on the J2SE download saying network not found, I'm not destined to use Sugar, I'm sure I'm not!

    Thanks again

yes and no. Java is required for using the embedded analytics with JasperReports. All other features (listings, Word and OO mailmerge, custom SQL, ..) are working without.

just search the Zuckerreports download section for files called "_report", "_listings", "_templates", you will find several predefined reports. contributions are welcome.

without any technical knowledge you will fail to create meaningful reportse, I guess.

When I upload the zuckerreportsce_1.6g_module into the module uploaded, it seems to do something but deosnt look like its installed, I then installed the patch which worked and installed the two reports that I found, they've uploaded ok.

I've gone into the configure tabs and it doesnt show here, it mentioned something about renaming tabs, which I dont think i've done. So any clues on what i've done??

This is really unfortunate that the Open Source is open wallet or open ended. I hope they have a module that is part of core modules for report generations. Installing Zuckerreports is not the solutions because suddently you are dealing with two companies.

I have been mentioning the print command is very naive.

I hope they fix these two requirements for a viable alternative.
