    Question Ticket system in SugarCRM?

    Hi,

    I am orientating myself now about the different CRM's as to which one to use for my about-to-start company. SugarCRM looks real good but I just can't find info about one functionality which I NEED.

    Does SugarCRM also provide a ticket system?

    So by that, I mean that customers can post a question through a basic html form, which then appears in the CRM with a specific subject, so that when replies go back and forth, it stays within the same conversation?

    Also, I need to send out mass mail (not spam, but to registered users). How are the possibilities for this?

    With a little hacking sugar OS suports "tickets".
    The mass mail is also supported by sugar OS.

    In my opinion with a about-to-start company you will need to create invoices, for now the sugar OS has two modules, but I'm not sure if they are good enough to production...It depends on your company needs (products managment/services)....

    For my company sugar is ready we provide services around open source solutions, so we have some knowledge to patch some parts of sugar.

    But I cannot hack and I don't intent to go into that stuff. I do need a solution that "just works". I've been looking at ...... as well which appearently does support tickets.

    I am in to process of opening up a website in which services will be sold, no tangible products. Invoices don't need to be made. Actually the most important is that we have a ticket system, and a way to keep track of our contacts which we make (which will be very important for us).

    I have the feeling that sugarCRM is a bit to big for our needs. We could also make a seperate ticket system and use an email&contact program next to it.

    What would you recommend? (or anybody else..)

    Hi kramer65,

    This is what the Web Self-Serivce Portal does that is part of the Professional edition (http://www.sugarcrm.com/crm/products/editions.html). In the OS version mapm is right. You'd have to use either create your own or use one of the portal interfaces on SugarForge. Either way it wouldn't be right out of the box like the Pro edition's.
