    Exclamation Tracking actual sales?

    Hello,
I am new to the CRM world. I am a webdesigner, and a client asked me to look into CRM for them.

The issue for us is that most CRM's seem to be about tracking leads and campaigns, what we need it to track actual sales of products!

For example the company I work for has 20 salespeople. Their clients are already very well established, they aren't worried about new sales leads. All they need is a place online where each of their salespeople can login and record the following info (preferably via their iphone and blackberry):

    • Was the sale to a jobber or a dealer,
    • how many units sold (across 8 different SKUs)
    • to who were the units sold and what warehouse are they coming from
    • free goods given away
    • was a demo of the product(s) performed

then this data would be used to collate the following reports:
    • commissions of all salespeople
    • commissions of individual salespeople
    • ratio calculated between free goods and sold goods
    • Product demo report: how many demos and to who they were demo'd

Is there anything in sugarCRM that will do this kind of thing? If not does anybody know if what I am looking for exists?

My client has been doing this with paper records for over 60 years, and they literally have an entire warehouse full of boxes, each sorted by year and salesperson. They really would like to move into the 21st century here.

Thanks for all of your help!

These requirements sound fairly specific, so they'll probably need some custom work. But it would not be too difficult for a technical person.

I developed a Products module that tracks similar info from quotes to sales to shipments. I have seen references to a Products module on SugarForge or SugarExchange, but I haven't tried it.

You can build your own module using Module Builder and create custom fields to hold the data you describe. The biggest issue will probably be getting all that paper data into the system But you can start by looking forward while you decide how much historical data to enter.

Luckily they dont care about getting the old data into the system! They are fine with a fresh start.

I will have to setup sugar this week on my webserver and take a look.
