I am new to SugarCRM and being 'playing' around with it for several days now - firstly, great product! Respect and hat off to all developers.
Don't know if it's my lack of knowledge of this product, but I would like to know how to handle the following situation using SugarCRM.
An email comes in to sales@company.com. The Group inbox collects it. The email can then be assigned to a user. So far so good... but then I don't understand the Sugar way of doing things. This user can then only create a lead, case or contact of this email. But that's not really what I want to do...
... I would like to assign this email to a current customer or create a new opportunity or project from it. Basically, we get emails sent to distributions lists such as sales@company.com with requests for an offer / proposal. From these emails I would like to trigger some kind of workflow process for creating an offer (relevant project or tasks, docs, emails etc.), all related to current (or new) accounts or contacts.
Is sugarCRM the right tool for me - I hope so. Have I got a think failure here? Thanks for your help.
