Unable to select database

After attempting to install I get the following error. It does not seem to match the other errors of similar posts, but is related.

Installation is proceeding... the output will appear below once it is complete. Please wait.

Creating the database sugarcrm on localhost...done
Creating the db username and password...Creating the db username and password for localhost...done

Unable to select database: Access denied for user 'sales'@'localhost' to database 'sugarcrm'

Any ideas?

Open phpmyadmin and set priveleges for enclosed user for sugarCRM database
