    Default Upgrade to 4.0 from 3.5.1a

    HI,
    My sugarcrm's upgrade to 4.0 form 3.5.1a went partially successful. After uploading upgrade path and running install from Upgrade wizard, it executed mny SQL commands and then replaced files with newer version. At the end of the display, it printed "Upgrade applied successfully!".

    I could login to upgraded 4.0 sugarcrm.

    On the home page, it asked me to set time setting and displayed these messages:


    Please go to the Repair screen and click on Rebuild Relationships.

    Please go to the Repair screen and click on Rebuild Extensions.

    Warning: Please upgrade DST Fix using the upgrade in the administration panel

    The application requires a Daylight Saving Time fix to be applied. Please go to the Repair link in the Admin console and apply the Daylight Saving Time fix.


    However, it does not work from here. When I click on any task, link etc. it displyas the same page as mentioned. I clicked on many module links like activities, leads, opportunities, admin, about.

    Tried to click on some last viewd items links, but no use. All it shows is the same page (The one above described).

    As far as I remember Mr. Clint noticed that before upgrading ot 4.0 FIRST you have to make all updates to sugarCRM 3.5.1a (e.g. you must update to sugarCRM 3.5.1d). Only then upgrade to 4.0.

    And why don't you follow instructions which are shown on Home page? (red sentences in your post)

    I cannot follow the instructions. Because when I click on the links those instructions point, the same page appears. That is the whole problem. I cant go to any page, whenever I click on something, the same page is displayes.

    What version of php are you using? SugarCRM 3.5.1 and 4.0.0 only support PHP 5.0.4 and back.

    The issue you are describing is a common symptom of running on a newer version of php that is not supported.

    I finally figured this out after about a month. You may want to test on a non production server first!

    1. Back up your current database even though it has issues
    2. Back up your current file directory.
    3. Use PHPMyAdmin and search your database for "version" to find out the version of your database. (In my case 4.0)
    4. Do a fresh install of Sugar 4.0.1 creating a new database
    5. Open your config and change the database to the one you are having trouble with.
    6. Download the update to update your install to 4.0.1 (In my case SugarSuite-Upgrade-4[1].0.0_to_4.0.1.zip)
    7. Unzip the files to your Hard Drive and find the "400_to_401_mysql.sql" file.
    8. Upgrade your database by applying the SQL file to you broken database in PhpMyAdmin
    9. Log in using your admin account and follow the steps to repair the relationships and extensions.
    10. Back up your database again!
