Upgrade to 4.5.0g to h

Error 1251: Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client

What does this mean? I can't get past step 3 without an answer to this question.

I've just checked the MySQL site and the only version higher than the one currently installed is 5.1 beta. I'm not going to install a beta version on my working copy of Sugar so this can't be the problem.

What is causing this.

The uName and PW are working fine logging into MySQL otherwise. I don't understand.
