Default Upgrading from 2.5.1b to 4.0

    Hello all,
I have a production SugarCRM box we have been running for the past two years without a single glitch. I am very glad to be a proud user of the SugarCRM software, thanks ppl for this great thing.

Recently, in parallel to the growth of our team, we required access control features which are not available in the 2.x series. Thus, we need an upgrade. I checked the documentation and it seems that this is to be a two-phase process for us. First upgrade from 2.5.1 to 3.5.1 through the instructions given in upgrade documentation provided for 3.5.1 and then upgrade from 3.5.1 to 4.0 using the upgrade instructions in 4.0 docs.

However 2.5.1 to 3.5.1 upgrade docs do not state anything about version "2.5.1b". Any suggestions, comments?

    thanks a million,
    -bd

Ok. Since no one has answered to date, I am posting my own solution.

Yes, the two step upgrade process 2.5.1b -> 3.5.1 and then from 3.5.1 to 4.0.1 worked. The upgrade wizard at above the 3.5 level was great.

    thanks again,
