Upgrading from 3.5.1 to 4.0.0

Is it this file i should use when upgrading? -> http://www.sugarforge.org/frs/downlo...atch-4.0.0.zip <-

When i try to upload the file i got "The uploaded file is not compatible with the current version (3.5.1) of Sugar.".

What could be wrong?

You got to have at least 3.5.1x (a,b,c,d or e).

I just arrive in a company using the Version 2.5.1beta. Can I upgrade crm from this version or not ? I know that my version of crm is an old version but I don't want to loose all datas.

Can I just clarify this?

I am trying to upgrade from 3.5.1a to 4.0. Do I donwload the full or patch zip file? I tried with the full and it told me that it was not compatiible with my version.

Note, from the admin screen I uploaded the zip file - is this correct or should I be uploading a manifest file or something?

Hi all,

some more info... to answer my own questions and maybe some of yours....

to upgrade you need to use the patch files, not the full install files (makes sense, but patch sounds like bug fixing to me).

to upgrade to v4.0 you need to be on 3.5.1a at least. SO, if you are less than than you need to upgrade in steps first.

I now have lots more probs, but will put that in another post.

I guess you should be able to migrate from 2.5.1 to 3.0 then 3.5, 3.5.1 and then to 4

Worst case scenario you will have to see what is different database-wise between 3.5 and your version and alter the database manually.

Finaly I choose to install the 4th version and insert my 2.5.1 database manualy from phpmyadmin. No problem to do that and nothing loose. Thx for your help
