user password will not reset

I logged into Sugar as "admin" and reset a user's password. When he tried using the new password with his username it did not work. I tried it again and it didn't work again for him. Any suggestions?

Can you provide more information, did you hit "save"?

Which versions do you use?
I hope nobody uses LDAP authentification? LDAP Passwords cannot be set by sugar.

Perhaps the same problem as this thread ?
I suppose one of the php-extensions is missing.
Can you check it?
