Using Sugar for On-going work

I am very new to sugar and am wondering if anyone has used it to manage daily ongoing work (through activities in the account?)

I run a design firm and want to have a way to enter work to be done and then have my guys do the work and then report it. Seems like it can/might work, but I wanted some feedback.

Good, bad, or is there a better way/idea/app?

I would build a custom module that would hold all tasks and relations to activities or make tasks grouped by project and use built-in project modules.

In either way you would need customization to fit system to your needs
