Using SugarCRM for Market Research

Are there any modules (or conversely, what is the best method) for attaining good market research in SugarCRM? At our company we would like to design a system to have continuous ongoing research, with the ability to update data on an ongoing basis and "on the fly."

Our company specializes in manufacturing for heavy industry, and primarily sells using the b2b business model.

We currently compile our research using Word and Excel documents. So, for example, one document we use is called "Project Analysis" where there are set questions we answer in order to get a better sense of things, i.e. "What do we know about the project/ How is it funded/ have we ever worked with this company before", etc.

It would be ideal if we get those questions into SugarCRM. It would even be more ideal if an algorithm could be set up so that, as we fill out each bit of research & information, it increases our percentage of probability. The question is, could this be accomplished?

I also envision a two-pronged approach to SugarCRM: Market Research & Sales Cycles. It would be ideal if the information gathered in the Market Research template could convert over to a Sales Cycle once a certain threshold, or key information, is achieved.
