    Talking Using Yahoo and Godaddy with Sugar

    I just want to post a few things I have come across while setting up Sugar that will mabey help some of you that are just getting into Sugar and are super noobs like myself. It will also take out hours of frustration and needless drinking.

    If you are using Yahoo! Sugar is not compatable and they are not going to fix it. But dont stop there. What I did was purchased a godaddy account with a different prefix (.info, .us, .biz, .net) Yes its not the same as my .com but I bought it just to run Sugar and thats really why we are here right?

    Godaddy will support easy installation of Sugar, just follow the steps given from Sugar and Smile! But the stable version I found to work with Godaddy is the 5.2.2c (The 5.2.2f version would not load. It was till a new relese at the time and the bugs might be gone now. Dont quote me on the exact versions but I remember the c anf f difference) If your reading this your lucky becouse I spent hours and alot of beer trying to get it on Yahoo rather than just getting another host for Sugar right from the start. I just want to put some search tags below to help you becouse this is what I have searched for the last few week.

    (Tags: Yahoo Sugar, Yahoo hosting Sugar CRM, install sugar on yahoo, will yahoo work with sugar, Will Godaddy work with Sugar, Godaddy sugar, installation)

    Anyway once you are humming along and enjoying Sugar with Godaddy you are going to want to set up the mail feature right? Where is my beer?!? ***Now I am really pissed off and frustrated** BUT WAIT

    Godaddy WILL support the e-mail feature, well kinda. You can only use outbound e-mail with Sugar. and to do this it is actually simple, now that I look back......at all the beer cans behind me. In the administration page go to email account settings and select sendmail. (It will allow you to send mail!!!!!!!!) Do not select SMPT!!!!!!!!! It will not work! You are also going to have to change 5 instance of the code in one of your files.

    Go to modules/InboundEmail/InboundEmail.php

    and change

    imap_fetch_overview($this->conn, $uids, SE_NOPREFETCH+SE_UID);
    to
    imap_fetch_overview($this->conn, $uids, FT_UID);

    Anyway that is all I got and if I left anything out PM me or post it here and I will help you the best I can, like I said I am a noob at this but this post will at least save you the following:
    6 cases of Beer
    94 Hours of frustration
    6 arguments with your wife on why you wont get off the computer
    1 New keyboard and mointer (If you like throwing things)

    Enjoy! and if anyone knows how to mass import products in the Opensales Module so I can write up sales orders let me know becouse I just got done arguing with the wife and am going to the beer store to pick up a new keyboard and mointer!

    Default Re: Using Yahoo and Godaddy with Sugar

    Hello. Can you be more especific, please?

    In Godaddy I can't find the "administration page" I Only have: Hosting Account page, The Domain manager Page and the new Dashboard. My emails accounts is in the Google Apps service.

    I think, if I change the "send email" feature, from the Godaddy email account settings, it will change my MX Records, and I will be unable to use the Google Apps. Email service. ( maybe for this reason you had to buy a lot of domains)

    In the Godaddy email settings I don't see the option for: don't select "smtp"

    Thank You very much for your response.
    JMHM.
