Default Want implement in a Shopping center

    Hello.

I work in a shopping center, and we want to implement Sugarcrm, our idea is manage the score of the customer's stores, one customer can buy in several stores and maintain the same information; what i'm thinking with this schema is to build one store like one account and the customers like contacts, so, this is a good practice?, can you recomend some whit this kind of structure?

    thanks a lot.

    Hi jpill,

I think you should create a custom Store module, with a many to many relationship to Contacts. Out of the box, the relationship between Accounts and Contacts is essentially one to many (not exactly, but it looks like it), which seems not to fit your scenario.

With a Stores module, you could use Accounts to represent Shopping Center, Supplier and/or Family, depending on the rest of your requirements. It is common to use Account as Family in business-to-consumer projects.

    Best regards,

    David

    Thanks dtokeefe for your answer.

So, your opinion is continue driven the stores with an account and the customers wiht contacts, the "add" is create the module that allow many to many between Accounts and Contacts?

    Again, thanks.

That seems to be the best approach. Another approach is to remove the Account field from the Contacts module and create an Accounts subpanel for Contacts. In fact, as our resident guru Andre Lopes pointed out just now, the relationship between Accounts and Contacts is already many-to-many. However, that Account relate field in Contacts makes it seem to be many-to-many.

Pick your poison: customize the Accounts module or create a custom Stores module. There are advantages and disadvantages to both choices.

Perhaps others from the community will offer their opinions.

    Best regards,

    David
