Warning: Missing username and password for outgoing mail account.

Hello I got this error when I click on an email address in a lead. I have configured the email settings in the system and I have checked it to allow all users to use the SMTP server as an outgoing server. I've sent test emails from within the email settings page and they are never received.

I've also searched for this error in the forums but haven't found anything.

Has anyone seen this before? I'm running 5.5.1

what were you doing to generate this error?

All I did was go into the lead then clicked on the email address that was listed in the lead which brings up what looks liken a simple in-built mail client but it gave me the above error and couldn't send any emails?
