ive tried powweb and hostgator, they don't allow enough resources to run anything above sugar 4.2x
I can't afford to pay more than $10 USD per month for a host, so dedicated servers are 100% out of the question.
I'm in need though. please help.

I've run 4.x and 5.x off of both of those providers. PowWeb was slower, but it worked. I am not sure what led you to believe it wasn't possible to run it off of either.
Hostgator is well within your budget, see here: http://www.hostgator.com/shared.shtml
I am not sure I understand the problem.

well, what i said was that pow web and host gator CAN NOT run anything other than sugar 4.2 or lower do to restrictions the companies put on accounts, and i also mentioned that i have tried both already..
My question was for you to give me something OTHER than the two i listed....
I need to be able to run sugar 5x and these will not.
please help
Actually, since you want to debate semantics, you never posed that question of me. You merely tried to assert a statement about PowWeb/Hostgator as fact, but my experience tells me your statement is not fact. I was merely pointing out that your statement is incorrect and that you should give Hostgator another look.
You seem to already have convinced yourself that's not the case. I don't see how I *can* help you.

it's been months since i've had to deal with all of this stuff, so the specifics elude me.
That is unfortunate for me, because it will make it difficult to prove my point.
I currently use Powweb. before i set my CRM up like i wanted it, i set up 4.XX which was an auto install, and then proceeded to upgrade from there to the newer versions. I tried 4.5 first, and it worked, but anything beyond that would not install because of a "64mb php limit" or something to that effect. So, i went looking for another server.
On another forum, i read somewhere that Hostgator would work!
I talked to hostgator support prior to signing up, and they said i could use sugarCRM 5x.. They said i could.
i signed up for hostgator, i installed sugar 4.2 or whatever from a backup i had, and then proceeded to upgrade..
i tried to upgrade to 5x and it wouldn't work....
"64mb php limit" or whatever.... it has the same restrictions. that's not exactly / literally what the error was.. like i said it's been months now, but when i contacted support they said that sugar 5x needs More than that allotted amount and that they could not give me more than that amount..
It would run SOME aspects of sugar 4.5 but not everything. it threw lots of errors because of the "script limit" or whatever it was..
it was the same problem i had with my current one. so since that's the case i canceled Hostgator and kept my powweb.
So with all of this said, maybe i'm misunderstanding you. do you currently have sugar 5.X installed on a hostgator account with no issues?
it's entirely possible that there's something that could have been turned off or whatever, but if that's the case, then i should be able to turn it on at powweb too..
please advise...
p.s. sorry for being snippy, my girlfriend happened to be bitching at me at the exact time i was trying to write so it came out all wrong...
