    Thumbs down why is sugarforge abandoned?

    I'm new to sugar and it's a great product. I see that there is a great community here and the product itself is very useful to me.
    as I'm exploring the possibilities of sugar I see that the extensions on sugarforge are not maintend. I appreciate every developer that does something to the community (and I wish I could develop extesions myself), but It's very odd to see that only 10% of the projects are active. 90% were not updated at all, with some are just abandoned for a couple of years.

    why this projects still alive? isn't it better to do some cleanup so will see what the real projects are? do they stay there just for people to think that there are a lot of projects?

    again, kudos to every developer, I just think that sugarforge can look a lot better.

    First and foremost - welcome to the community

    Regarding the outdated projects, it was just recently that I decided to do some crowd sourcing to clean up.

    There's a few changes that I made to SugarForge recently that I thought would help facilitate that. Since you're new, they probably seem like normal everyday things.

    1. Old project? Flag for removal - it's a link I added to have people mark projects as dated. Feel free to tag away

    2. Activity and Score in search - this shows the activity for a project for the last week only. So some projects may be very active, but really only for the last week...

    Anyhow, one of the final points on this subject is that many customers and open source users are running on versions like 4.5.1. Those people can still benefit from a project that is outdated and not updated.

    Hopefully you can help us out, help flag stuff for removal, and generally post good forum posts like this one. It's what makes a community. Thanks!

    @matthew:
    thx for the quick reply!

    again, I think that the developers are doing a great job, but it really help to see what projects are more active.
    will start on flagging right away!
