Default Will this work - Accounts Payable

    Dear all,
Thank you for reading my post (hopefully not too long winded)
It was surprised that I was able to install and configure (to login) an entire installation I about 35 mins! The interface looks and feels really easily and intuitive. But I wish to use Sugar in away that’s not sales related but I think a lot of it can be tailored to my needs. I am an Accounts Payable manager. Basically, My department receives invoices, log invoices to excel, sends copy out internally for authorisation to an executive, receive authorisation and then pay the bill. Currently, there is no tracking of contact with or suppliers (supplier would be equivalent to an ACCOUNT in sugar) or execs.
Now there are some things in sugar that I think would be perfect!

THE OUTLOOK PLUG-IN. - on the walk through demo it shows sending an email and adding it to an account in sugar to track your contact with that customer! This would be great when we receive the "why haven't you paid us yet" email. We can then assign the query to the exec (using a create CASE) in our organisation and find out why it hasn’t been implemented yet.

THE CAMPAIGN PLUG-IN. - I would like to use this module to send a mass not to Accounts, but to the execs within our company that have not authorised an invoice within 30 days. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you can create a report and send an email to prospects or accounts 30 days after a sale. What I want to do is similar, with the only difference being rather than sending the campaign to an email address contact contained in an Account, it would be sent to an employee internally. I think this is a fundamental change and not sure if this would work!

ZUCCER DOCS - I understand you can upload documents but cant see how you connect that document only to one account. I played around with the studio and tried to add a dropdown with the account name with no luck. It would be great to scan invoices and have all the copies hanging under an account code with all the correspondence attached as well! (thanks to the outlook plug-in)

THE PIPELINE - this could show the amount of invoices not authorised, and authorised for the month. I'm sure it would work as the only difference is the core data is not sales related. i.e. a closed sale is equivalent to an authorised invoice. a quote or proposal is equivalent to a un-authorised invoice.

I think the main difference is when (in the sales world) you need info from a prospect you contact the prospect! (outward facing.) In my world a query from a prospect means contacting an employee (inward facing). So I assume all the campaign stuff is linked to the email addresses in the accounts rather than to the employees who are responsible for the error (failed authorisetion of invoice).

I've only cheacked around the website and forums for a few hours so I maybe way off track, All opinions welcome.
Obviously this is the fist step, we would look at some professional help should you comments be favourable rather than do it myself.

    Regards

    Carrick

I think the solution for your case is very well possible with Sugar. But to reach it, you'll have to get in touch with a (preferably local) Sugar implementer and explain your case.

Ergo: you require some specialty work

    Hi Carrick,

The implementations that you have mentioned here can be achieved. The flexibility of SugarCRM allows to customize it according to the various business models.

We have implemented many customized functionlity on-top of Sugar. We did for mortgage industry, eductaional institutes and also dealt with e-commerce and health-care industry.

We would like to explore the opportunities in various vertical markets. Would appreciate if you can share in your requirements in more detail and I would like to discuss this further. I can be reached at mpaikpro@gmail.com

Looking forward to demonstrate our capabilities.

    Regards,
