Default Wireless Synchronization of Sugar 4.0 Data

Using funambol/Sync4j has anyone has success synchronizing Sugar CRM data ( calender, contacts , emails ) with a mobile device using the server?

Will the sync4j server and connector for Sugar CRM work with the Sugar CRM 4.0 ?

I'm really really interested in knowing if anybody has managed to do this. If there is a howto that would be really really useful.

My company's looking into this too. Haven't made any progress yet but I'll report back if and when we do.

In the meantime how do you guys provide synchronization for your clients?

We are using sugar outlook plugin to sync outlook to sugar and then MS exchange to sync the outlook contacts/calendar info to mobile phones and any MS exchange connected device (PC, laptops, blackberry)

The only thing is the Sugar Plugin crashes all the time... It causes fatal errors in MS Outlook after leaving auto synchronization on.

I'm gonna keep testing some of the other OS plugins and hope that sugar can figure out how to elimate crashing AND auto sync not just calendar but new contacts entered into outlook.

Right now you have to manually sync emails and contacts by "sugar sync" for each contact to yes.. ...

Still in the process of rolling out but we're using the outlook plugin to get meetings/call and assoc contacts into outllok for sales guys to do their road-trips - and are developing a bespoke email integration system.

We're using the jack rabbit plugin to do our synching - the included one was just too buggy to put in the hands of sales dweebs

But we're doing it much the way you described.

We took a shot at funambol . . not all that great documentation . .

Would like to know if you get it working - i'd like to use it just for imap email . . stop paying sprint $30 a month per phone for their BCEE product . .

Yea right now we testing sugar plugin and having it auto sync calendar items. Then we use MS exchange/active sync to distribute the calendar items/contacts to mobile phones.. it works ok but is sorta a workaround.. I'm working on a mobile version of sugar crm for cell phone browsers.... this should be a better solution for now
