Workflow that creates a task and assigns it to the users of a team

Hello All -

First off I should let you know that I am very new to Sugar. So i ask, please be as indept as possible with responses. OK. I have a long proces that I want Sugar to take care of. I have defined a set or workflow definitions that originally sent out e-mails to the appropriate users to do a certain action after one has been completed. I think that sending emails is not using the system properly. I see that there is a task dashlet. so this is what I would like to do but don't know where to start.

I want to add the task dashlet to the home page of every user. so once the use logs in, he/she has a list of task visible immediately.

Then I want to create tasks instead of emails and assign these tasks only to the appropriate teams' members. Once a memeber on the team checks it i may want to trigger another workflow and also remove that task from the other team members' list of tasks.

Please, all with experience, if you have any idea how I can accomplish this please let me know. Thank you.
