working with the description field in sugar

First question when I have a question about working with sugar I can only post a thread However it is just a question

Oke here comes the question,

Working with sugar is great however what is the best workflow of making descriptions for example for calls in other CRM application you have an overview of your history in one field (for example the description field in sugar) in other applications you can make a date stamps, is that also possible in sugar CRM and what can be the best workflow for working with notes of callconversations you had with customers. I tried to do this in the description field for calls however when I make an export in CSV the field gets to big and it is not possible to make a time stamp

I believe you are misusing the description field a bit.

The description field is intended to be used to store notes or comments pertaining to an individual call. It should not be used as a running log of ongoing communications. This is inline with how other CRM systems work.

For example, if I make 2 calls to a particular individual, one today and the other tomorrow, I would log 2 calls within Sugar, each with its own content within the description field. In addition, each entry automatically has its own "time stamp" associated with it in the form of the creation date which Sugar automatically assigns.

That technique eliminates the problem you are describing.
