    Default writeable modules

This is ridiculous ! I have changed the permissions file by file in the modules folder but i can't get past this one. I just want to give it a try on my pc before use it in production, but it seems i will have to stick with other crm's which are not that pro like sugar, but simpler to install/manage. This is really a pitty.

I had some weird problems with permissions too.. so I just did a

    chmod -R 777 modules cache

    etc.

    worst case even do a

    chown -R nobody modules cache

    don't have that problem now.

I am having the same problem ... and my hosting company doesn't offer shell access, so I sent the two hours resetting all the files, directories and subdirectories in the modules directory to 777 and it stilll says "Writable Modules Sub-Directories and Files - Not Writeable" Why doesn't the install util have a way to take my user name and pwd and change the files for itself?

    What to do now???

    The general config data is:
    Operating system Linux
    Kernel version 2.6.9-22.ELsmp
    Machine Type i686
    Apache version 1.3.34 (Unix)
    PERL version 5.8.7
    PHP version 4.4.1
    MySQL version 4.0.25-standard
