    Default Zucker Docs

    I have just had to go through ZuckerDocs and install it on several SugarCRM 4.5.0h machines with several different PHP version on them. I have had to go through and make a version that works on PHP 5.2.0 and I rearranged the install so that all you have to do it install the module and all the other databases that are needed are created and populated for you instead of it being a manual process. (thats the part everyone hated)

    That being said, I am wondering who is using this module and who isn't but wants to. I know there is a newer version of Knowledge tree out there and I really have no interest in updating this one (I hope the zucker people are feverishly at work on this as we speak) but I have had more than a few customers recently as me to install this module on their system as they could not get it to work.

    So I want to gauge how much interest there is in a easy to install ZuckerDocs that works on 4.5.0h and 4.5.1 and all supported versions of PHP before I spend time on it. Also, if the zucker people (person?) are/is out there and you are close to releasing a new version a quick note to that effect would be great.

    Talking Re: Zucker Docs

    OK, Here is a version of ZuckerDocs 1.4.5 that is SugarCRM 4.5.0x compatible and PHP 5.2.0 compatible. I also made it self installing so there is no more manually creating and populating the database and manually editing the config.php file. Just load this module and begin managing your documents. It also now shoudl be upgrade safe (it was almost upgrade safe before).

    Hi Ken.

    Thanks for getting this module working with 4.5

    Looks like Go Mobile haven't been doing anything new with Sugar for quite some time. Florian Treml from Go-Mobile got a bit frustrated because each time they developed a new module, Thunderbird Plug.-In, Email Client, Word Plug-In etc. Sugar came out shortly after that we an equivalent module.
    Cheers Malcolm

    Thank you for the work. I recently migrated an old 3.5.1 linux install onto a system I could actually manage (windows, i'm not a linux guy), and upgraded. Now that I can manage this thing effectively, i'm looking forward to trying out different modules and such. Hopefully the ease of use on the install you created with facilitate me using it

    The one 'bad' thing about the module I made is that assumes that you can create a database and some of you that have managed servers cannot. I will try to come up with a version that will create the needed tables in your sugar database if need be.

    I have just installed Zucker and will let you know how it goes. We are looking for a Document Management plugin for Sugar that will work well with TeamOS so hopefully this will do the trick.

    And I got around the Database creation by giving that user perms to do so before installing it that way the database was created then I just revoked the privileges. But I guess that is only applicable when you have access to that sort of thing.

    Hi Ken,
    Thanks for this it certainly makes it a lot easier to get Zuckerdocs installed. However I still have two problems with Zuckerdocs.

    I am am running on a Uniform Server 3.3 WAMP install.

    First problem: On 4.5.0h and 4.5.1: I have added the line to the cases module to add documents to cases. there is an error message

    Fatal error: Call to undefined method MysqlManager::resetSettings() in W:\www\intranet451\modules\ZuckerDocs\SubPanelView .php on line 97

    at the bottom of the documents subpanel. I have commented this out and the error goes away (not surprising) but I don't know if this breaks the code anywhere else.

    Secondly: If I add a document, then check the document out then back in again I get two documents listed (same info). If I do another checkout and checkin I get three documents listed. They all point to the same document with identical details. Each checkout checkin seems to create a new entry. If I list the documents in the Zuckerdocs tab I also see the 2,3,4 listings for the same document. If I create a document in zuckerdocs my documents everything seems OK. Although different versions of the search, explorer links in Zuckerdocs tab seem to replicate the problem.

    I understand that you are not the owner of the issues around Zuckerdocs and the Florian/GoMobile are the real owners of these issues. I will post this there as well. But I though the warning and visibility of the issues I have might help others.

    copy($currentFile, $backupFile);
    $handle = fopen($currentFile, "w");
    fwrite($handle, $contents);
