Default 2 Companies & Multiple Access Levels

I have already installed SugarCRM onto my server, but have four questions.

    1. My company has two divisions that we want to use SugarCRM for. However, we do not want each division to see the others information. Only the admins will have access to both sets of information. How can I accomplish this?

    2. WIthin each division we want to have different access levels.
    • Admin (full access to everything)
    • Manager (access to all information from their users)
    • User (access only their information)
    • Viewer (read-only access to all or only their information)

How can I set this up?

    3. Is it possible to mark information for specific users? I want to assign leads to specific users.

    4. If we send or reply to emails from SugarCRM, how can we have copies be archived in our Outlook?

Thanks in advance for any help.

This can be done using Teams in the Professional or Enterprise Version, or the additional TeamOS module (http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showt...ghlight=teamos)

Set this up using Roles (Admin -> Roles)

Receiving Emails into both Sugar and Outlook can be done, the messages need to be left on the Server, use the appropate option. Mails sent from Sugar will have to be sent to the mail address in Outlook, no other way AFAIAA
    Cheers Malcolm

If I understand you correctly, try setting the appropriate role to OWNER,

Look at the list view, at the bottom you have the mass update function. In Admin->Settings you can change the no. of records shown per page.

Say you use Outlook, you have either a POP or IMAP Account, you can also define for this Account whether records are deleted on the server when received in Outlook or kept on the server. Set the option to keep on Server. Do the same within Sugar.

    Hope this clarifes your issues
    Cheers Malcolm

Thanks so much for your help Malcolm. I do have 2 more questions.

    1. Which plugin helps intergrate Outlook with SugarCRM? I see a few out there but don't know enough about them to know which is right or the better one.

    2. We have it hosted on a server but it is slower than hell. I asked my friend who is hosting this for us and he said it is because they are only running php 4.0. And we should go to a host that is running php 5.0. Do you have any hosts that you can recommend that won't cost an arm and a leg but are dependable? I have a developer that can set everything up and do all that fun stuff.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

To Q1, we use the Sugar Outlook Plug-In, most of the problems are resolved

To Q2, can't really say as we are active in the UK and Germany. Where are you located?
I would suggest asking around the various big ISP's, making sure all the right components and versions are available.
    Cheers Malcolm

    Hi,

Just a runmour, but I think Sugar are thinking of dropping support for PHP4 with Version 5, so choose carefully.
