3 Small Questions

I am needing some more advice/help please.

1. We are trying to import several excel spreadsheets into CRM, and our headers dont match the ones in Sugar. I know how to create new dropdown fields, but I dont know how to map these new fields to the sugar ones so they go into the correct locations....question 2 is related and could be an easier solution?

When I have tried using the same headers, the 1st two columns in the spreadsheet match fine it doesn't seem to pick up the 3,4 or the 5th column so only the 1st two import...why is this?

2. I noticed I can just edit the label text, is this safe to do as I could just edit these to match what we have been using?

3. I would like to create our own sales stages, but I cant seem to see where to do this and give them a % and our own titles/description so we can see them displayed that way in the reports page. Can someone tell me where I would look and how to do this.

Short answers for you; check Sugar University and the Knowledge Base for further information and "How Do I" guides.

1. When you do the import, you are given a chance to map the fields in your spreadsheet to the fields in Sugar. Make sure you map all the fields.
2. Yes, just go to Studio ->select the module you want, then select the field labels and edit them to match your terminology.
3. Admin -> Dropdown Editor is the place to go. You can edit the sales stages and also the percentages that match with each stage.

During the import process you should have the ability to select from a dropdown what Sugar field matches up with your Excel sheet.

For the sales stage changes go to Admin->Dropdown Editor and find the sales stage dropdown to edit.

Hi thanks for the reply...just 2 things

How, when importing data, can we get the system to populate the “Contact” in each “Account” at the same time as drawing the main Account information across.?

Also:

When we change the Sugar naming convention to match our own, how do we ensure the data being drawn in from a spreadsheet is routed to the correct location, i.e. if we change “Title” to “Position”?
